About Helen…

Helen is a self-taught Goldsmith, having studied a BA(Hons) in Design Crafts at Hereford College of Arts. Graduating in 1999 and subsequently launching 'Helen Brice Designs', her mixed-media background allows her to approach jewellery design from a somewhat unorthodox perspective. Preferring to create new work at the bench, rather than in a sketchbook, she often designs for a specific gemstone or setting.

Over the years she has become progressively attracted to creating jewellery which is emotionally significant to her customers, frequently re-modelling their own or inherited jewellery with feature sentimental gemstones, or working to commission to create special, bespoke heirloom pieces for her clients.

Rings feature heavily throughout the collections. Representing so many important life events and encouraging interaction with the wearer, they are a constant remembrance of a moment or sentiment. The asymmetric designs stem from love of architectural and organic detailing, pattern and texture, and Helen uses different finishes and contrasting materials - mainly Gold, but also Sterling Silver & Platinum - to compliment the specially selected gems.

In the last few years, Helen's unique style has manifested as a growing series of signature 'Showstoppers!'. These highly coveted, one-of-a-kind pieces are instantly recognisable and Helen particularly enjoys designing these bespoke pieces for specific clients, welcoming the opportunity to explore her creativity through new and innovative jewellery.
